Your Information Nucleus

Dear Reader,

The Chemical Institute of Canada is Canada’s central source of news and information about the chemical sciences and engineering — Your Information Nucleus. As the publisher of ACCN, the Canadian Chemical News since 1945, the CIC has a long tradition of keeping our members up to date and involved in the chemical sciences and engineering community. How people access information has changed dramatically over the decades and the CIC continues to strive to keep pace with new communications trends to connect with its members.

That’s why in 2013, ACCN, the Canadian Chemical News, the CIC’s principal vehicle for communicating with its members, is changing. Beginning in January 2013, we’ll continue to bring you the same amount of excellent editorial content, but now in six issues instead of 10. At 48 pages — 16 pages longer — each hard copy issue will be packed with more news, opinion columns and storytelling, including some exciting new features to keep you informed.

In addition, by changing the frequency of our hard copy magazine, we’ll not only be able to bring you a better variety of content in the pages of the magazine, but will also be growing our online news sources.

Watch your inbox and www.cheminst.ca throughout the month of December as we unveil all the exciting new initiatives we have in store for 2013.

Sincerely,

Joe Schwarcz, Chair – Editorial Board, ACCN, the Canadian Chemical News
Jodi Di Menna, Editor, ACCN, the Canadian Chemical News
Roland Andersson, Executive Director, Chemical Institute of Canada
