Chemistry will be brought to the public in the form of lecture tours by two Canadian chemists, Joe Schwarcz and Pierre Beaumier.
Joe Schwarcz is Director of McGill University’s Office for Science and Society, a unique enterprise with a mandate of demystifying science for the public, the media and students. He is well known for his informative and entertaining public lectures on topics ranging from the chemistry of love to the science of aging. His first lecture of the series is entitled “Are Cows More Trustworthy than Chemists?”
Pierre Beaumier, President of CanAlt Health Laboratories has over 34 years of experience in the field of analytical chemistry. As one of the founders of Maxxam Analytics, Canada’s largest private analytical testing laboratory, he has been at the forefront of innovations in the areas of the development of testing methods, improving analytical accuracy, and quality systems and standards. His lectures will focus on hair analysis through screening for essential minerals and toxic elements.
